A classical poem that all the French of my generation have studied at school.
I love the colors of this poem.
First verse: green
Last verse: red.
Green and red are complementary colors in the spectrum.
Green is nature, life.
Red is blood, death.
We can compare this holy man to the body of a soldier: they don't move. They have left us.
Both are in connection with Hashem, not for the same reasons.

Many Hasidim refuse to go to military service, especially the Satmars.
They pray and fell asleep together.
